NOTICE OF SEASONAL ACCESS IN PEI NATIONAL PARK

CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND, December 17, 2018 – Parks Canada wishes to advise residents and visitors that road access to the following locations is now closed until spring:

  • Robinsons Island
  • North Rustico Beach (unpaved section)
  • Cavendish Grove
  • Greenwich Beach
  • Cavendish Beach (for construction)

These roads are not plowed during the winter season and are kept closed as a precaution to ensure visitor safety. Parks Canada continues to plow the Gulf Shore Parkway between Cavendish to North Rustico and Brackley to Dalvay, as well as several parking areas in the national park, including the Greenwich Interpretation Centre, Dalvay Beach, Bubbling Springs/Farmlands Trailhead, Ross Lane Beach, Shaws Beach, North Rustico Beach (paved section), and Macneills Brook.

While visitors are welcome to explore the park and enjoy snowshoeing, breaking trail for cross-country skiing, viewing wildlife, and other preferred winter activities, PEI National Park facilities and trails are not maintained in the winter and there is no emergency service provided by Parks Canada.
