RiteSTOP Closing

MacDonalds’ RiteSTOP will be closing. Our last day of operation will be December 31st, 2019.

‘We, George and Siri and myself, would like to thank you, our home community, for 25 years of support. St. Peter’s and the surrounding area is a part of the history of George and I, with both sides of our family dating back for more than 200 years. We have enjoyed and felt pride in doing our part to serve the community.

We would also like to thank all of our current and former staff for their dedicated service, and for having been able to “put up with us”. Over the years we’ve employed a large group of very special individuals. Especially, it has been our pleasure to see so many employees start out as high school students who we saw grow into excellent adults – many still living in the community and other’s visiting through the summer months.

We’d like to extend a special thank-you to Jeannie for her many years of amazing dependability and the pride she applied to her work on a daily basis. We feel fortunate to count Jeannie as a friend and to have been part of her life through some very difficult and challenging times.

We are sorry that we are unable to carry on longer. Our fuel storage tanks are outdated beyond insurability and require immediate replacement. The store has been listed with a broker for a number of months. Though there has been substantial interest, we have not been lucky enough to find a buyer to this point. It will require someone younger and more energetic with a willingness to invest and re-establish the business. We are hopeful that this is a good time to sell. PEI is economically strong and St. Peter’s, particularly, is showing real signs of a very bright future. I’m encouraged by the number of young people choosing to buy or build a home in the community. I feel confident that the business will not be closed for long – that someone will take over and breathe new life into the business.

Best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year!! And, again, thank you all for years of support!!!

George, Siri and Paul
