In light of an exciting funding opportunity available through Rural and Regional Development, the St. Peter’s Area Development Corporation has formed a sub-committee which is working toward the goal of purchasing and installing new playground equipment in the community of St. Peter’s. While there is playground equipment available to village residents at the St. Peter’s Complex and campground, this equipment is not visible to families passing through our beautiful community. The Playground Committee feels that installing equipment directly in the community, visible to anyone travelling in the area, would be a great benefit to our community.
What we are proposing is to create a playground directly within the community, in the under-utilized area by the gazebo. By doing so, we feel that families with young children will be much more likely to stop and spend time in our lovely community, thus benefiting local businesses. We also feel that young families living in the area will benefit from having another outdoor activity available, and that families considering moving to the area will see this as an attractive feature.
The funding opportunity we will be applying for requires a 50% contribution from the community. The anticipated cost of this project is estimated at $20,000, which means our goal is to raise $10,000. As such, we are asking for your support.
If you choose to contribute to this project, your generosity will be recognized on a sign located within the playground area. Donations of $500 or more will be recognized as Title Sponsors, $250-$500 as Gold Sponsors, and $100-$249 as Silver Sponsors. We will recognize all donors under $100 in a list below. A map of the community will also be included on the sign, highlighting the locations of local businesses to help encourage visitors to stop in and explore all we have to offer.
